Nantou Detention Center has received the 2025 Outstanding Public Sector Group Award for Disease Prevention from Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare, recognizing its top-ranked performance nationwide in infection control.

Between 2024 and 2025, the Center administered influenza, COVID-19, and mpox vaccinations to more than 600 individuals, conducted 405 LTBI screenings—the highest nationwide, and provided hepatitis B and C screening for 235 detainees. Nearly 13,000 participants joined health education programs.

The award was formally presented in November 2025, with Superintendent Huang Sheng-Hsiung accepting the honor on behalf of the Center, highlighting its strong commitment to public health and institutional safety.
